I had the pleasure of being able to meet with the Wounded Police and Families Assoc who recently stayed in the Pillo hotel, Ashbourne. Many of them told really amazing stories of bravery from men and women during the troubles, many of whom were only in their early twenties at the time and living with devastating wounds and disabilities from gunshots and car bombs. I am very proud to give a contribution towards the Meath Senior Ladies Gaelic Football team's appreciation night after the final.
The players on this team are among some of the sports people in this country, and should be regarded in the highest of esteem. They are great role models for girls and young women to continue in sport. #sport #meath
