I had the pleasure of being able to meet with the Wounded Police and Families Assoc who recently stayed in the Pillo hotel, Ashbourne. Many of them told really amazing stories of bravery from men and women during the troubles, many of whom were only in their early twenties at the time and living with devastating wounds and disabilities from gunshots and car bombs. Their stories should be archived for future generations to learn about our terrible past. I also used the opportunity to give our guests information on Boyne valley tourism and what the local area has to offer.
