I have lived in Ashbourne all my life. My parents moved out from Dublin in 1976 to where I live now which is West View in th Garden City estate of Ashbourne. I live with my fiancée Michelle, and our daughter, Mia.
I bought my parents’ house back in 2002. They moved up to Castletown, near Nobber, and I have two brothers, Owen and Gavin
I went to school in St Declan’s, but there was no secondary school in Ashbourne at the time, so I ended up going to O’Connells school on the North Circular Road.
I started work in 1997 in Brady’s Garage in Ratoath. I worked in Bradys for two years, then I worked for Tadhg Riordan for two years, and then I worked for the AA for another two years before starting out on my own with the Ashbourne Auto Clinic.
While I was getting my apprenticeship, I was also completing college courses in car engineering in Bolton Street.
I am 12 years in the garage - the Ashbourne Auto Clinic - that I founded and built from scratch.
I have another sideline business with the garage, Ashbourne Tyres, and I have founded a third business, CPC Ireland, in 2013, which is a Road Safety Authority-approved business that trains bus and truck drivers for the RSA-approved Certificate of Competency.
Through my work in business, I have developed a track record for building things from nothing and making them thrive. I feel that the same goes for my position as Councillor; there are plenty of initiatives that I have worked on from the ground up and I enjoy seeing them manifest as self-sufficient projects - an example of this is the Ashbourne Youth Centre).
