Ashbourne 6&10k Road Race and Fun Run 2017
Get ready... get set... sign up! Registration is now open for Ashbourne’s sixth annual 6&10k Road Race and Fun Run which will be held on Sunday 3rd of September. Race numbers and on the day registration will be open at the Ashbourne Community Centre from 9am, with both races then taking place at 11am sharp from the Ashbourne Youth Café unit on the High Street. Coined as being the ‘Last Race of the Summer’, this all-inclusive run caters for all levels of fitness and is open to runners, joggers, walkers and crawlers alike. For the first time ever, we have gorgeous engraved medals for all of our fantastic finishers. As always, our kind and generous sponsors have donated great prizes for first and second place in each category, so you have to be in it to win it!
This event is fun for the whole family. You do not have to run to enjoy the celebrations as we will have great music, refreshments, snacks and more! Come along and support your friends and family and have a good time down at the Youth Café.
All proceeds generated from this event will be used to support the Ashbourne Youth Café which will be officially opening on the 14th of September! The Youth Café will provide an excellent facility for young people between the ages of 12 and 18 to unwind with their friends away from home and school pressures. The primary aim of the Youth Café team is to provide a first-class facility that the community of Ashbourne and the surrounding district can be proud of. The Café is in the final stages of development now and the committee are so proud to be finally opening their doors to the youth of Ashbourne this year.
All further information about the race including maps, directions, parking and registration for the 6&10k events is available through www.eventbrite.ie for the great price of €20! Under 16’s are €10. It is also possible to register on the day. If you have any questions and comments about the race or if you wish to volunteer on the day or with the Youth Café, please don’t hesitate to contact our race organisers directly.
